City of Connellsville – Dutch Bottom Property Demolitions


Sealed Proposals will be received by the:
City of Connellsville of Fayette County, Pennsylvania care of Widmer Engineering Inc, 225 West Crawford Avenue, Connellsville, PA until 4:00 P.M., on November 20th, 2017 and then publicly opened at the monthly City meeting November 21st at 6:00 P.M. for the following: City of Connellsville – Dutch Bottom Property Demolitions.

The City of Connellsville is proposing the complete demolition of twenty-three (23) residential building within the City limits. These homes were all damaged by floodwaters and are being bought out through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.  Between now and the time of demolition, some property owners may opt out of this program or homes may otherwise be removed from the program; therefore twenty-three (23) may not be the final number of home actually requiring demolition. Work consists of asbestos inspection and removal as necessary, E&S controls, disconnecting utilities, complete demolition of existing structure(s), backfilling, re-grading the lot, placing topsoil where needed, seeding and mulching. 

Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the City. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Widmer Engineering Inc., 225 West Crawford Avenue, Connellsville, PA 15425. Electronic PDF copies, suitable for printing, of the Contract Documents may be viewed and downloaded at the Widmer Engineering website @ under the tab “Bids”. Electronic PDF documents are available at no charge. Hard copies will not be distributed.

Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose names and addresses are on record as having obtained CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.

The Bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, made payable to the City. A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder within ten (10) days after the contract is awarded.
