ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
CAMPGROUND ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Sealed proposals for the Independence Township – Campground Road Improvement Project will be received by Independence Township, 34 Campbell Street, P.O. Box E, Avella, Pennsylvania, 15312, until 12:00 noon, local prevailing time, on Monday August 19, 2019 for furnishing labor, materials, and performing all work set forth in the advertisement, general conditions, drawings, and specifications for the Campground Road Improvement Project.
The work shall include proposed widening, repairs and resurfacing of approximately 3,600 LF of Campground Road beginning at the intersection with Brashears Run Road in Independence Township, Washington County, PA.
Plans, specifications and bid documents are available only via download from the Widmer Engineering website at www.widmerengineering.com under “Bids”. Proposals must be on the forms provided by the Engineer. Each proposal shall be accompanied by either a certified check or Surety Company bid bond payable to Independence Township in the amount of not less than ten (10%) of the contract amount. Upon successful award of the contract, a 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be required.
Bids, whether mailed or delivered in person, shall be sealed and clearly marked “Independence Township – Campground Road Improvement Project” and addressed to Cyndi Cecchini, Independence Township, 34 Campbell Street, P.O. Box E, Avella, PA 15312.
The successful bidder must carry insurance with financially responsible insurance companies licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and approved by Independence Township and shall be kept in force until the successful bidder’s work is accepted by Independence Township. Contracts of insurance which expire before Independence Township accepts the successful bidder’s work shall be renewed and evidence of such renewal shall be submitted to Independence Township for approval.
The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any portion thereof, or to waive any informalities in the bids. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates will apply to this project.
Bids may be held by the Township for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the Contract.

All questions and answers will be posted to the bid advertisement page. Questions will not be answered via phone calls during bid stage.
