ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The Borough of Monaca, Beaver County, Pennsylvania shall accept sealed bids at the Office of the Borough Manager, 928 Pennsylvania Avenue, Monaca, PA 15061 until 2 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2025 for the following two separate projects:

Monaca 9th Street Storm Sewer Separation

Monaca Sanitary Sewer Lining

Bids will be opened publicly by the Borough Manager on the date and hour set above for the bid closing.

The Monaca 9th Street Storm Sewer Separation project involves the disconnection of the storm sewers from the sanitary sewer at the intersection of 9th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue and the construction of a new storm sewer from the same intersection to the existing storm sewer on 8th Street within the Borough of Monaca, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

The Monaca Sanitary Sewer Lining project involves the installation of Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) in the sanitary sewer collection system located within the Borough of Monaca, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

The invitation, preparation and submittal of bidding requirements, all materials furnished and all work shall conform to all applicable parts of the contract documents.

Bidding documents, technical specifications and contract drawings are available only via download from the Widmer Engineering Inc. website at: www.widmerengineering.com under “Bids”.  All questions regarding the project must be sent via email to Monacaprojects@widmerengineering.com.  All questions and answers will be posted to the bid advertisement page.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Bank Check, Money Order, or Bidder Surety Bond equaling ten (10) percent of the bid amount as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract shall be entered into and its’ performance properly secured. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the time set for the bid opening.

Bids, whether mailed or delivered in person, shall be sealed and marked “Monaca 9th Street Storm Sewer Separation” or “Monaca Sanitary Sewer Lining.

Upon successful award of the contract, a 100% Performance, 100% Payment and 100% Maintenance Bond shall be required.

The minimum wage rates for each craft or classification of all workmen needed to perform each contract during the anticipated term hereof shall be governed by the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rate Determination attached to the bidding documents.

Contractors will be required to make their best effort for DBE Solicitation (Monaca 9th Street Storm Sewer Separation).

The Borough of Monaca reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids and to award the contract in the best interest of the Borough.

It is the contractor’s responsibility to check their email addresses at appropriate intervals.
