Scottdale Borough Sanitary Sewer Replacement with Addendum 1

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

 

Sealed bids for the Scottdale Borough Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project, Borough of Scottdale, County of Westmoreland, will be received by the Scottdale Borough at the their office located at 10 Mount Pleasant Road, Scottdale, Pa 15683, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., local prevailing time until Monday October 9, 2017.

The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the monthly meeting of Scottdale Borough at the Scottdale Borough Building, at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, October 9, 2017.

The work will consist of installation of approximately 196 linear feet of 15” Sanitary Sewer, 39 linear feet of 8”, 13 liner feet of 10”, 13 linear feet of 12”, and 13 linear feet of 18” Sanitary Sewer, 3-10’ Manholes, and asphalt replacement.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by security in the form of a certified check or bid bond payable to the order of the Scottdale Borough in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid in accordance with provisions of the Contract Documents.

The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Widmer Engineering Inc., 225 West Crawford Avenue, Connellsville, PA 15425. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 4:00pm.

Electronic PDF copies, suitable for printing, of the Contract Documents may be viewed and downloaded at the Widmer Engineering website @ www.widmerengineering.com under the tab “Bids”. Electronic PDF documents are available at no charge. Hard copies will not be distributed.

Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons who are registered as having obtained Contract Documents.

The successful bidder receiving the contract award will be required to furnish a “performance bond” in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price.

Attention is directed to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth by the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project; that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin or handicap; that a mandatory ratio of apprentices and trainees to journeymen is required in each craft and that the Contractor (and any subcontractor) is obliged to make a “diligent effort” to achieve these ratios.

The Scottdale Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, totally or in part, or to waive any informalities in the biddings.

Bids may be held by the Scottdale Borough for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the Contract.
